What does the salary tax calculator include?+

It estimates statutory employee deductions (income tax and social contributions), employer contributions and the total cost to company for an employee in South Africa or Egypt. InOfficePlus service fees are not included.

How is the South African cost to company calculated?+

Gross salary plus employer UIF (1%, capped), SDL (1%) and an OID / COIDA workmen's compensation provision estimated at 1.96% of earnings up to the COIDA ceiling.

How is the Egyptian cost to company calculated?+

Gross salary plus employer social insurance at 18.75% of the contributory wage, which is capped between the statutory minimum and maximum monthly wage.

Can I work backwards from a net salary?+

Yes. Switch the calculator to net pay mode, enter the take-home amount the employee should receive, and it will show the gross salary and total cost to company required.
